A MESSAGE FROM JIM FAZIO, GOLF COURSE ARCHITECT

The Trump Organization envisioned a transformation into what is now a world-class course comprised of hills, palm trees, flowers, waterfalls, oak trees, streams, creeks, and coconut trails. He provided an unlimited budget, topping $40 million, in his desire to create the best golf course that could be built: something very, very special!

We moved over three million cubic yards of earth in a period of nine months, part of which was used to create the highest golf elevation in the state of Florida, 58 feet above sea level. The result is a landscape unique to South Florida and the creation of a southern live oak forest, highlighted with tropical plants and palms characteristic of the region... Because the land was originally flat, we were able to think of different concepts with no two holes alike. The layout, routing, and bunker shapes are all unique. If I never design another course, I am satisfied that this project was the highlight of my career.
