Hole 1
Par 4 | Yards: 475 | Handicap: 3/7
The first hole is one of the most challenging par 4s on the course playing a staggering 475 yards from the championship black tees. The tee is elevated some 20 feet above the landing area and a powerful accurate drive down the right center of the fairway is a must. The same stream from the tee guards the right side of this generous fairway. If one is to reach this elevated green in regulation, a well struck low iron or hybrid will be needed. Missing the green to the right brings into play the dreaded “Valley of Fatigue,” making par almost impossible. The putting surface is relatively flat with subtle breaks. A bogey is a welcomed score on this introductory hole.
Hole 2
Par 4 | Yards: 417 | Handicap: 17/13
This mid length par 4 is nicknamed the “Bomb Shelter.” The championship tee is perched atop a WWII Bomb Shelter. Don’t let this hole fool you. The player will tee off from an elevated tee to a generous fairway guarded by a live oak tree on the left and immense fairway bunkers on the right. A well struck drive will leave the golfer with a mid to low iron to the green. The long, modest putting service slopes front to back and is defended by a false front coupled with two cavernous bunkers on the right. Being below the pin is a must if you are looking to make a birdie.
Hole 3
Par 5 | Yards: 539 | Handicap: 5/1
This reachable par 5 is no joke. This risk reward hole gives the player two options off the tee. Take on two well placed bunkers up the right, giving the best advantage of hitting the green in two, or bail out left to a generous landing area. If the player chooses to bail out, a magnificent oak will impede their chances of reaching this green in two. From this angle, the player will need to layup with a mid to low iron leaving them with a 90-100 yard shot into the green. The green slopes gently from right to left and is well protected with greenside bunkers on the right and a tranquil waterfall spilling over to a slender creek that protects the left.
Hole 4
Par 4 | Yards: 384 | Handicap: 13/9
This dogleg left par 4 demands accuracy off the tee. From the championship tee, players will most likely be hitting a 3-wood in order to keep their ball from running through the fairway. Your tee shot must negotiate a wooded area that flanks the right side 230 yards from the tee. A well placed drive down the right center of the fairway will give the player the best advantage to hit a mid to low iron into the green. The putting surface is angled left to right with water behind and on the right side.
Hole 5
Par 3 | Yards: 228 | Handicap: 11/17
The longest of the par 3s, this hole plays predominantly into the wind. There is a large infinity bunker that runs along the length of the right side. The left side of this green is bordered with a small pot bunker and 5 towering coconut palms. The middle of this extensive hogback green slopes strongly front to back while the tail end runs away from the player. Three is a great score on this challenging hole.
Hole 6
Par 4 | Yards: 335 | Handicap: 17
The shortest of all the par 4s, this slight dogleg right par 4 tempts the golfer to go for the green with their drive. This aggressive decision brings into play a lake that rests quietly to the player’s right. The prudent golfer will aim to carry their ball over a rock outcropping some 220 yards from the back tee. This high percentage shot will leave less than 90 yards to a two-tiered green.
Hole 7
Par 2 | Yards: 191 | Handicap: 9/15
This unassuming par 3 has thwarted many quality rounds. The player must carry their ball over water that guards the front and entire right side of this one shot hole. The green sits angled left to right from the teeing ground and swirling winds place a premium on club selection.
Hole 8
Par 4 | Yards: 473 | Handicap: 1/5
The toughest of holes and “king” of the par 4s. This demanding dogleg right plays 473 yards from the championship tees. A long accurate drive must negotiate the right-flanking water hazard and sand bunker that guard the right portion of the landing area. Playing left off the tee to avoid the trouble on the right lengthens the hole considerably. A fairway wood, hybrid, or low ranged iron will be needed for your second shot into an elevated bunker guarded by a false front kidney-shaped green.
Hole 9
Par 5 | Yards: 533 | Handicap:7/3
Playing back to the clubhouse, the player will hit from an elevated teeing ground and need to avoid the water that crosses in front of them. This long par 5 features water that runs the length of the hole on the left. Predominantly downwind, this hole is reachable in two for the longer hitters. If the player decides to layup, they will be faced with a third shot that plays to an elevated green with bunkers on the left that will swallow even the slightest mishit. The green is relatively flat.
Hole 10
Par 4 | Yards: 419 | Handicap: 14/14
This par 4 starts the inward nine with a spectacular view from an elevated tee. Situated right next to the clubhouse, players will need to hit a drive down the left center of the fairway presenting the best vantage point for a successful second shot. A mid-iron approach shot will need to cross a stunning lake that impressively sits covering the right side of the fairway and green. The green is protected by bunkers on the left and in the back. A relative flat putting service awaits the player.
Hole 11
Par 3 | Yards: 177 | Handicap: 18/18
Hole 11 is a medium length par 3 from an elevated tee to a slight downhill green. The tee shot requires pinpoint accuracy in order to avoid three bunkers on the left and one to the right. From the tee, a sublime stream meanders directly in front of the player. The green angles in three directions. The first 3rd of the green slopes back to front, the second 3rd slopes right to left and the final 3rd left to right.
Hole 12
Par 5 | Yards: 625 | Handicap: 6/12
The first par 5 on the back nine is a long one. This double dogleg plays at 613 yards from the championship tee, making it the longest hole at Trump International and played between towering Florida pines. A true three shot hole, the approach shot is typically played with a short iron to a well-protected green that runs cuttingly left to right.
Hole 13
Par 4 | Yards: 469 | Handicap: 6/4
The 13th hole is a demanding straightaway par 4 that plays 469 yards into the prevailing winds. In order to take advantage of the natural slopes of this hole, the player must look to hit their drive down the left side of the fairway. Two massive fairway bunkers protect the right side of the landing area. For the approach shot to the green, the player will be faced with hitting a long iron to an elevated green that is well protected by three church pew cavernous bunkers. The green slopes right to left, however, the grain on this green is tricky and three putting is common.
Hole 14
Par 4 | Yards: 413 | Handicap: 12/10
This majestic par 4 plays from an elevated tee to an elevated fairway. The hole is set up as a dogleg left and requires an approach shot that must be taken from the fairway. The golfer will be faced with a mid to low iron to an elevated blind green. The putting complex is notoriously firm and slopes away from the golfer. The green is garrisoned by bunkers, three stacked on the left and two title wave bunkers in front and to the right. If the player comes up short right on this hole, a double bogey quickly comes into play.
Hole 15
Par 5 | Yards: 550 | Handicap: 16/2
The 15th begins a stretch of holes that are unparalleled in the game of golf given their sheer beauty and strategic layout. Even the most accomplished golfer finds it impossible to play them in level par. The 15th is a double dogleg par 5. This magnificent hole starts from an elevated tee with a stream that begins greenside on the left and crosses the fairway midway on the hole and then runs down the entire right side off the tee. With a good drive down the right center of the fairway, the long hitters will ponder going for the green in two. The modest player will need to traverse the stream three times from the tee if laying up. The green is protected on the left by a palm tree forest and small graceful waterfall and bunkers on the right. The small green complex slopes right to left and is sneaky fast.
Hole 16
Par 4 | Yards: 406 | Handicap: 10/8
The 16th hole is a medium length par 4. The longer players will find themselves teeing off with a 3-wood or hybrid to this generous elevated fairway. The fairway runs sharply into a lake some 300 yards from the championship tees. The lake that players are trying to avoid from the tee encompasses the green on three sides, making the approach extremely difficult from a windy fairway. This two-tiered green runs sharply from right to left.
Hole 17
Par 3 | Yards: 215 | Handicap: 8/16
This signature hole is one of the most spectacular holes in the game of golf as the overwhelming beauty and peaceful tranquility captivates the golfer from the teeing ground. From the championship tee, this hole plays a staggering 215 yards to a virtual island green. From a slightly elevated tee, the player will feel like they are hitting their ball directly into a 60-foot waterfall that is lushly landscaped with bougainvillea and giant Phoenix palms.
Hole 18
Par 4 | Yards: 469 | Handicap: 4/6
The 18th tee sits above the falls of 17 green and is the highest teeing ground above sea level among golf courses in South Florida. Ranked by virtually every golf magazine as one of the most spectacular finishing holes, the 18th at Trump International Golf Club will be one of the most memorable finishing holes you will ever play. A long par 4 that plays into the wind with a lake down the entire right side of the fairway, the approach shot will most likely be taken with a long to mid-iron to a green that sits out into the water. This is an extremely difficult finishing hole.
